mleluong: I chose gender because I usually present very feminine in the way that I dress and do my makeup. I find confidence in the way I look, so expressing myself through my physical appearance is important to me.

canofdanchan: I chose ability because my chronic pain has been worsening over the years, so much so that I have to take meds for it. And especially in the winter, I wake up in pain almost everyday so it's a very subtle yet constant reminder.

eluong97: I chose age because I have the privilege of enjoying my youth as a time to try different things and grow as an individual. I am also able-bodied and energetic, so I am able to do most of the things I want to do physically. As a young woman also, I also don't have to worry about things older women may worry about like the stigma on aging.

luongliveemily: I chose race because as a Sino-Vietnamese-American, I have never completely fit into Chinese-American, Vietnamese-American, or (white) American culture. Not many people know what "Sino-Vietnamese" is either,so questions about my race are always more complicated to answer as well.

christina: I chose sexuality because I have been through situations where people misunderstand my sexuality, this is based on how I dress or how I present myself as more "dominant" or "masculine" when in reality it's just who I am as a person and it does not have anything to do with my sexuality.

mleluong: I chose gender because as a female, my family has always policed my gender performance to make sure I behaved in traditionally feminine ways. My appearance is always judged by family members, I am compared to other female family members, and if I behave in ways that don't conform to gender norms, I am criticized.

canofdanchan: I chose income because I grew up in the silicon valley and was/am upper middle class my entire life. My parents are both college graduates, which made getting into and affording college super easy for me. I also have access to fresh food, clean water, and am not in danger of foreclosure. I am not and never will be in danger of being homeless.
